Alita: battle angel cast. BEAUTIFUL EYES! I"M SOLD, LOOKS AWESOME, ????The song sounds like Linken Park song. As one who owns and read all the mangas when I was younger, the first trailer made me feel like I can skip it. It felt like ‘okay this is like the anime short movie all over again. This trailer showed me like there is a lot to discover and it picked my interest. Now Im ready to see it day one as a fan.

Alita is an entertaining little sci-fi yarn, but no more entertaining, or complex, or groundbreaking than say, Transformers. I get it. The fresh new, part tekkon-kinkreet anime" clothes, and a female heroine(Luc Besson girl power style) DO spice things up just a notch, and there"s plenty of surprisingly good fx/production-value, but this story and script is pretty bland. I"m left with little to no emotional value. Not even some star power actors can really add anything to this story. Even some much lower-rated films like "Real Steel" and "A.I." Capture this viewers attention and heart a bit more than this. Speaking of the afore-mentioned anime. a film like "Tekkon Kinkreet(tekkonkinkurito) is a completely overlooked gem that,imo, blows something like this out of the water, visually ANd emotionally.
All that said.
This IS an entertaining action film with mostly well-fashioned CGi, and certainly deserves another viewing. BUT, to see it hovering near the 8.0 mark is a bit of an anomaly. If it doesn"t settle at or near A.I., around 7.0, I"d be a little disgruntled-with the voters, but as time goes by, it IS becoming readily apparent that "entertainment value" even when it lacks emotional punch, is the new measuring stick for "good" films on this medium. Maybe that"s disappointing me worse than the film did - but I digress.

Don"t get me wrong I love the live-action movie but this new lore is COMPLETELY different from the manga source material. Not one thing in the movie"s backstory resembles the manga"s backstory at all, which is unfortunate. I think this new lore for the movie has great ideas and is well written, but I feel it wasn"t really necessary to diverge from the original backstory. I could nitpick this new lore all day but really my only complaint is what"s the point in changing up the backstory when the manga"s story would"ve adapted to the big screen just as well or even better? It"s probably for multiple sequel purposes which the manga"s backstory could"ve allowed sequels as well.) The manga has a much simpler and easier to remember backstory to how the world ended and is much more believable. It doesn"t have any widespread disease or Alita having the upbringing of Master Chief from Halo, it"s actually much better.

I haven"t been this emotionally attached to the protagonist in any other movie I watched in the past. She is so badass and loveable, and her character design just adds to the tally. This movie gives you a whole new viewing experience with amazing never seen before fighting scenes and scenery. Trust me: I am the type of guy to get bored watching a movie for the second time, but with this, I can"t wait to go and watch it again. I find it unbelievable that such a movie would be voted badly/average on rotten tomato"s and Box Office, but I heard it"s getting better and it is being released in the East and more countries worldwide. The producers are complete geniuses and the graphic designers and editors were phenomenal. If I could, I would donate millions to this movie so it could surmount its production cost as fast as possible. I think I speak for everyone when I say this: There MUST be a sequel. SEQUEL SEQUEL SEQUEL. Please, everyone do your part and rate this movie with high stars. Share with your friends, family, and even your dog because they will love it too. As a huge fan of the original “Susperia” by Dario Argento and Daria Nicolodi, I was a bit disappointed by this film at first. It felt like a watercolored ripoff of a masterpiece. However, as I watched it I began to see that in order to enjoy it, one must see it as a completely different film that borrows heavily from both Argento and TED Kleins book “The Ceremonies.” With that said, its a decent Horror flick but definitely not original. Fans of Argento might be a bit underwhelmed...
